Huawei Y9 (2019) will launch in India today as an Amazon Exclusive

While Honor will launch the Honor 10 Lite on January 15, Huawei will be bringing the Huawei Y9 (2019) to the country today. The company is holding an event in New Delhi which is set to begin at 11am. The new Huawei Y9 touts a premium design, notched display and quad cameras at a mid-range price.The Huawei Y9 (2019) will be an Amazon exclusive products as the e-commerce platform already has a dedicated page set up for the device. Amazon will be throwing in a pair of Boat Rockerz Sports Blutooth headset worth Rs 2,990 with the Y9 once it goes on sale. The Y9 (2019) has been official outside of India for a few months now so we already know everything about it already as far as design and hardware is concerned.As for the pricing, we expect the Huawei Y9 (2019) to be priced somewhere between Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000. This is because the Huawei Y9 in Malaysia costs RM 899 (approx Rs 15,300). The phone could share a pricing close to the Huawei Nova 3i, which is currently found for Rs 16,990 in India. Another reason this could be the case is because the Honor 10 Lite which gets a similar Kirin 710 chip is expected to take the sub-Rs 15,000 spot. Either way, we will know the Huawei Y9 (2019) price in just a few hours from now.The Huawei Y9 (2019) touts an attractive 3D arc design on the back with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It comes in three colours – Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue and a gradient Aurora Purple. It sports a 6.5-inch FHD+ (1080×2340) FullView display with a notch that is wide enough to house two selfie cameras.advertisementThe phone also gets a fittingly large 4,000mAh battery capacity as well which should keep it powered for a whole day. Like the Honor 10 Lite, the Huawei Y9 (2019) also runs an octa-core Kirin 710 chipset. This is coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Huawei Y9 that was launched in October in some markets runs EMUI 8.2 based on Android Oreo, but the India version is likely to come with Android Pie with EMUI 9 on top.The Huawei Y9 (2019) also comes with dual cameras on the rear and front. On the back, it gets a a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor.
