The fund is being unveiled on the 100th International Women’s Day, and Dame Stephanie Shirley, the Government Ambassador for Philanthropy, will be speaking.The Community Foundation aims to raise over £100,000 from individuals and companies to establish the fund. It will then form an endowment fund and distribute grants to fund projects and charities addressing women’s issues.Cathy Elliott, Community Foundation Chief Executive said: “Parts of Lancashire are severely deprived with levels of domestic violence, unemployment, poor health and social and economic problems far higher than other regions.
