LCD Soundsystem’s New Album Is Finally Finished, According To Frontman James Murphy

first_imgOn Friday, May 26th, LCD Soundsystem delivered a headlining performance on the first night of Sasquatch! Music Festival at the legendary Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA. During their set–a replacement for Frank Ocean‘s cancelled performance–frontman James Murphy candidly shared some news that fans of the band have been eagerly awaiting since their reunion in 2016. LCD Soundsystem’s new album is “finally done, feel like we knocked it out of the park on this one.”The album–the group’s first since their 2010 pre-breakup LP This Is Happening–will feature the two songs the band released earlier this month, “Call The Police” and “American Dream,” as well as “Tonight” (premiered during their 5-night, venue-opening run at Brooklyn Steel last month) and several more as-of-yet unheard tracks. The band recently appeared on Saturday Night Live, where they debuted “American Dream” and “Call The Police” to the masses unable to attend the Brooklyn Steel shows (where photos and videos were explicitly prohibited by the band). You can get excited for LCD Soundsystem’s long-awaited new album by watching video of the Brooklyn-based band perform “Call the Police” and “American Dream” on Saturday Night Live below:“Call The Police”“American Dream”[h/t – Pitchfork]last_img read more
