first_imgAn electrician appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts to answer to the charge of discharging a loaded firearm.Clifford McPherson appeared before Magistrate JudyLatchman where he pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that on July 6, 2016, at Oronoque Street, Bourda, Georgetown, he discharged a loaded firearm at the Virtual Complainant (VC), Ernice Barnwell, with the intent to maim, disable, disfigure or cause grievous bodily harm. The prosecution’s case contended that the defendant and the VC are known to each other and on the day in question, an argument over money ensued, leading to the incident. In a bail application, the court heard that McPherson is a father of four who shares a common-law relationship with the mother of his children and resides at Lot 707 B Field, Sophia, Greater Georgetown. However, the Prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that the defendant may interfere with the prosecution’s case and its only witness.
