Exclusive – Champions League football is the target for Rangers, insists Mark Warburton

first_imgNew Rangers boss Mark Warburton is targeting Premiership titles and Champions League football after taking over at Ibrox. The former Brentford head coach has been brought in by the club who are currently still playing in the Scottish Championship after missing out on promotion last year. But asked if he was targeting titles and a return to European’s elite competition, he replied: “There is no point coming to a club of this stature and not having those sort of targets in mind. It’s very dangerous to set specific timescales but the infrastructure is here. I’m looking out of the office window right now at a magnificent training centre.“What we have to do is recruit the right squad. Get them playing the right way and make sure we set our standards high and see how far we can go.”last_img read more

CHAMPIONS CLOUGHANEELY FACE ULSTER CLASH ON SUNDAY

first_imgCounty Champs CloughaneelyCLOUGHANEELY are the 2014 Intermediate County Champions after a 0-15 to 0-08 win over Buncrana at O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny today. They were favourites for the title – and proved it in a hard-fought battle. They now travel to Owebeg, outside Dungiven in Co Derry, tomorrow to play Derry Intermediate Champions Castledawson. The south Derry outfit were lucky winners over north Derry’s Slaughtmanus in their county final, winning by a point. The Ulster fixture, just a day after today’s county final, is hardly fair on the Donegal champions. But with talent right throughout the side, if they can recover there is nothing to stop them from progressing.  CHAMPIONS CLOUGHANEELY FACE ULSTER CLASH ON SUNDAY was last modified: November 8th, 2014 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Cloughaneelycounty championsIntermediate championslast_img read more
